Chuxiong Solar Calendar Park is a Yi cultural grand garden and dynamic museum that uses the ancient ten-month solar calendar of the Yi people as its core symbol and focuses on displaying the outstanding cultural heritage of the Yi people. It is located in the suburbs of Chuxiong. The solar calendar is an astronomical calendar created by the Yi people. In the solar calendar of the Yi people, a year is divided into five quarters and ten months, with two months in each quarter and thirty-six days in each month, totaling 360 days. The remaining 5- Six days are the New Year's Day. The solar calendar accurately calculates that the time it takes for the earth to orbit the sun is 365.25 days. It is the most accurate calendar among the ancient calendars.

The October Solar Calendar Cultural Park consists of the Welcome Square, Zhaobi, Calabash Sea, Solar Calendar Sculpture Square, Torch Square, and Competition Square. The park's "one sea, one waterfall, four squares, six villages and eight districts and one dragon" are cleverly dotted among the forest ravines and hills. It is mysterious and deep and is an important part of Yizhou's "Museum of Humanity and Nature". The unique residential buildings, landscapes and gardens of the Yi people, the unique folk customs of the Yi people, and the exhibition displays that reflect the broad and profound connotation of the Yi people's culture, as well as the giant relief groups created with the Yi people's founding epics and heroic deifications as their themes, fully reflect the Chinese culture.
