Scenic spot introduction:

The ancient town of Deqingqing City is an ancient town with rich and typical Jiangnan style. It is the largest water transport terminal on the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. The new city has thousands of years of history. It has been prosperous since ancient times, with simple folk customs and numerous talents. The famous Taoist Lu Xiujing of the Southern Dynasties studied here. Mr. Zhao Zichen, the domestic academic authority on modern Christian theory and a national theologian, and the modern juvenile love novelist Wang Jialun, etc., have studied here. Many cultural relics have been left behind. Xinshi Ancient Town is located about 30 kilometers west of Deqing. The rivers in the town are like a network and the water streets are dependent on each other. The ancient town retains residences of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, old business pawnshops, ancient bridges, etc. The main attractions include the Museum of Culture and History, Lu Xian Tower, Ming and Qing Wood Sculpture Museum, Liu Wang Temple, Folk Art Museum, Silkworm Culture Museum, Hu Xu’s Former Residence, and Juehai Zen temple etc.
