Niutou Village in Guling, Fuzhou, has high peaks and steep walls, surrounded by mountains, towering green trees and infinite scenery. It is a good place for people to hike, relax and have fun. Niutou Village is named after a stone that resembles a bull's head on the top of the mountain. It was once one of the major drought villages in Fuzhou and an important pass for the defense of Fuzhou Prefecture. Due to the dangerous terrain, it has always been a battleground for military strategists. Qi Jiguang, a famous general of the Ming Dynasty, set up a fortress and military stronghold here in the 42nd year of Jiajing's reign in the Ming Dynasty (1563). It has a history of more than 400 years. Guling Niutou Village is located in Guling Village, Guanxi Town, Jin'an, north of Guling Scenic Area and Cryptomeria King Park, about 10 kilometers away from the center of Fuzhou.
