Fuzhou Minjiang Jiefang Bridge Travel Guide

Fuzhou Minjiang Jiefang Bridge Travel Guide
Taijiang District

Scenic spot introduction:

Fuzhou Jiefang Bridge is a rare bridge-on-bridge style, and it is also a witness to Chinese history. As a symbol of Fuzhou and an important transportation hub, Fuzhou Jiefang Bridge has changed the way people can only cross the river by ferry. It has played an irreplaceable role in people's lives and urban development before the founding of New China.
The Jiefang Bridge was once the oldest stone bridge in the Fuzhou section of the Minjiang River. Its history can be traced back to the eighth year of Yuanyou (1093) in the Northern Song Dynasty. In 2009, the Jiefang Bridge received a new look, which is not only more beautiful, more reliable and durable, but also more convenient for travel. The bridge was renovated during the 60th National Day, which also symbolizes the vigorous development of Haixi construction and its early realization.
