"Xinhua Daily" was the only large-scale political organ published and distributed by the Communist Party of China in the areas governed by the Kuomintang during the Anti-Japanese War and the Liberation War. It was prepared in Nanjing at the end of 1937 and first published in Wuhan in January 1938. In October of the same year, Wuhan fell and the newspaper moved to Chongqing. By the time the newspaper was closed down by the Kuomintang in February 1947, Xinhua Daily had been in operation for nine years. In only nine years, "Xinhua Daily" has established its main office in Hutouyan, Hualong Bridge for seven and a half years.

The old site of the "Xinhua Daily" main building covers an area of ​​about 950 square meters and consists of 5 buildings with bamboo, wood and civil structures. The building complex is built along the mountain. From bottom to top along the mountain are the medical office, staff service area, typesetting room, reporter's office, type casting room, printing and editing room, and the highest point is the president's office and the chief editor's office. In the exhibition hall, there is also a closed and collapsed air-raid shelter, which was dug and built to avoid Japanese bombing. The "Xinhua Daily" was printed here.
