Reting Monastery in Lhasa is the first temple of the Kadam Sect in Tibet. It was founded in 1057 by the founder of the Kadam Sect, Dromtönpa, and has a history of more than 900 years. Reting Gepeling Monastery is located in Tangguo Township, Linzhou County, 240 kilometers north of Lhasa. According to legend, it used to be a bald mountain without any vegetation. Reting Monastery Festival:
1. The “Bird Welcoming Festival” is held on April 15th of the Tibetan calendar every year. The “Bird Welcoming Festival” is determined according to the local climate conditions of Rezhen Monastery.
