Lukang Longshan Temple is a first-class historic site in Taiwan Province. It is also the most well-preserved of the five Longshan Temples in the province. It is known as the "Forbidden City of Taiwan". The temple was first built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and moved to its current location in 1786. It has undergone renovations during this period and has reached its current size. The entire building has a complete structure, magnificent momentum, exquisite craftsmanship, and unique ingenuity. It is one of the most complete historical works of art, architecture, and craftsmanship in Taiwan's traditional architecture. It has now been awarded as Taiwan's "National Historic Site".

How to get there:

Bus route: Take the train to Changhua Station, then take a bus to Lukang. There are two buses from Changhua Bus Terminal (located diagonally opposite Changhua Train Station) that can reach Lukang. Get off at Lukang Terminal and walk about five minutes to Longshan Temple.



Self-driving route:

(Going south) Take the Zhongshan Expressway and exit at the Changhua Interchange (198.4 km), then turn onto Route 142 to (Zhanglu Road) to reach Lukang. After arriving at Lukang, take Zhongshan Road and turn left onto Sanmin Road to reach Longshan Temple.

(Northbound) Drive along Zhongshan Expressway and exit at the Puyan Interchange (207.7 km), turn to Route 142 to (Zhanglu Road), and turn onto the East-West Expressway (Taiwan Provincial Highway 76) to Lukang. After exiting the elevated road, drive along the Fulu River and turn right to Qingyun Road when you reach the Fulu Bridge. At the end of Qingyun Road, turn left to Zhanglu Road. Drive along Zhanglu Road to reach Zhongshan Road. Turn left from Zhongshan Road to Sanmin Road to reach Longshan Temple.
