The Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, Tibet is often called the "Two Jokhang Temples in Lhasa" together with the Jokhang Temple and is well-known in the world. The Jokhang Temple was first built in the Tang Dynasty and was built at the same time as the Jokhang Temple. It was built by Tibetan and Han craftsmen supervised by Princess Wencheng in the middle of the 7th century. The Sakyamuni Buddha enshrined in the temple is a life-size statue of the Buddha when he was 12 years old. It was brought to Tibet by Princess Wencheng from Chang'an and became the most precious historical relic in Tibet.
