Scenic spot introduction:

Dangyang Changbanpo is one of the ancient battlefields of the Three Kingdoms. It was the place where Zhao Zilong showed his power during the Three Kingdoms period and is one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Dangyang". Changban Slope is located in the central urban area of Dangyang, a county-level city in Yichang City, Hubei Province today. It is a hilly area formed by the east branch of Jingshan Mountain's remaining vein going south. In ancient times, it was called `Dangyang Changban`, or `Dangyang Ban`. In the old days, it was adjacent to Yunmengze. Although the lake was later transformed into land, by the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was still flooded with waterlogged areas and crisscrossed by water networks. Since ancient times, it has been a must-pass place for the north-south transportation trunk lines of our country.

According to historical records, in the 13th year of Jian'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 208), Liu Bei was chased here by Cao Cao. He escaped with Zhang Fei and dozens of other riders, and his family members were besieged here by Cao's army. Out of the siege, this story is told in the chapter "Zhao Zilong Rides Alone to the Savior" in the literary masterpiece "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms". In the tenth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, in order to commemorate Zhao Zilong's achievements in the battle of Changbanpo, local knowledgeable people erected the "Changban Xiongfeng" monument here for the world to pay tribute to. The stele was re-engraved during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. In 1936, Xiong Xingpu, the head of Dangyang County, and Wang Yujiu, commander of the local garrison, worked together to build Changbanpo Park here to commemorate his ancestors' martial spirit. During the Anti-Japanese War, the Japanese army occupied the place and the "Xiongfeng" monument was looted by the invaders. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Dangyang County Magistrate Hu Ciping re-engraved the "Changban Xiongfeng" monument in 1947 and restored its old structure.
After liberation, Changbanpo Park was built. In the middle of the park stands a tall bluestone monument of "Changban Xiongfeng". The park is full of century-old trees, tall and vigorous, and the pavilions and pavilions are antique. A street garden was built outside the park, in the middle of which stands a painted pottery statue of Zhao Zilong about 8 meters high. The 5 kilometers around the park are all the ancient battlefield sites of Changbanpo. There is a street in the east of the slope, which is said to be the place where Zhao Zilong and Cao Bing fought, called "Zilong Street". To the southwest of the slope, there is a hill named Zilongfan; in the countryside to the west of the slope, there are the remains of Prince Edward Bridge and Niangniang Well.
