Fu'an Lian Village, the hometown of Xue Lingzhi, the first Jinshi in Fujian during the Tang Dynasty, is a tourist hotspot for ancient culture in Fu'an. This village, which was commended and conferred by Emperor Suzong of the Tang Dynasty, still retains many ancient buildings and artistic masterpieces. It is a rare ancient cultural village in Fujian Province. The elegant and neat ancient official roads, the majestic ancient city walls, the moss-stained ancient road monuments, and the solemn ancestral halls, every brick, stone, plant and tree in Lian Village exudes a sense of tranquility and solemnity. Although Lian Village is low-key and hidden in the mountains and rivers of eastern Fujian, every scene and thing here reflects the glory accumulated by this ancient village over the long years.
There have been 17 Jinshis in Lian Village in a row. On average, one person has passed the Jinshi every ten years. In particular, Chen Xiong has five Jinshis in one discipline. His father, son, and brother both ascended to the top. His glory is outstanding and his reputation is long-lasting. I recall those days when gongs and drums were beating loudly, crowns and canopies were gathered, and villagers on both sides of the official road lined the road to welcome the civil servants and military generals returning home in glorious attire. The scene was so spectacular. Nowadays, the glory of the past has passed away, but what is preserved is this culture, this precipitation, and this emotion. In Lian Village, the bright light that cannot be concealed is still shining in the remains that have been preserved for many years, which is fascinating.

Lian Village is located 15 kilometers southwest of Fu'an City, formerly known as Shijijin. In the village, you can now see the city wall of Lian Village, the ancient official road, Chen's ancestral hall, Chen's branch ancestral hall, Houhu Palace, Mazu Temple, Chen Shu'an House, Chen Zhusong House, "Smart Spring", Xue Ling's former residence, and Xue Ling's reading place (Linggu). Thatched cottage), ancient wharf, Song Dynasty castle complex, Song Dynasty general Chen Zui’s tomb, Saiqi Su Yangming general Liu Zhongzao’s tomb, Kangcuo Dongshan Snow Cave (Liu Zi’s reading place) and other historic sites.
