The ancient city of Qianyang in Hunan is one of the best-preserved Ming and Qing ancient cities in the country. It is 1,400 years older than the Dayan Ancient Town in Lijiang, Yunnan. It is known as the "Gateway to Yunnan and Guizhou" and the "No. 1 Ancient Town in Western Hunan". The ancient city is crisscrossed with bluestone streets and alleys, with buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties everywhere, and rich intangible cultural heritage remains. Due to the well-preserved ancient buildings and the relatively good maintenance of their original features, Qiancheng has long been known as the "Jiangnan Ancient Architecture Museum" and is favored by many film and television directors. Qianyang Ancient City is located in the upper reaches of Yuanshui River and is the most important historical city in Xinhongjiang City in southwest Hunan. The core area of Qianyang City covers an area of 0.8 square kilometers. Zhongzheng Gate is the iconic ancient city gate, and Nanzheng Street and Zhongshan Street are representative ancient streets and alleys, including Furong Tower and Gulongbiao Mountain, the "first scenic spots in the upper reaches of southern Chu". There are many important historical relics such as the Bell Tower, Confucian Temple, County Government Office, Jiexiao Temple, Zaowang Palace, Wanshou Palace, the Ming Dynasty Wang Family House and the ancient city wall. How to get there:
Bus route: Take the long-distance shuttle bus directly from Huaihua South Bus Station (from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, the bus leaves every 20-30 minutes, the fare is about 13 yuan). There is a shuttle bus to Qiancheng Bus Station every 20 minutes, and there are passenger buses to and from Changsha South Bus Station and various towns in the city every day.
Self-driving route: After passing Huangmei River on the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway, leave from the Zhongfang/Hongjiang City/Huaihua Industrial Park/G209 exit; drive along G209 to Hongjiang City, near Furong West Road and Gucheng Road .
