Scenic spot introduction:
Dunhuang White Horse Pagoda was first built in 386 AD. According to legend, it was a pagoda built to commemorate the great monk Kumarajiva who spread Buddhism to the East during the Northern Liang Dynasty and the white horse that died while passing through Dunhuang City.Attractions distribution:
According to legend, in September of the 18th year of the Jianyuan year of the former Qin Dynasty (382), Emperor Fu Jian ordered the heroic cavalry general Lu Guang and the Lingjiang general Jiang Fei to lead 70,000 troops and horses to attack Qiuci westward. He also ordered: "Teng heard that there is Kumarajiva in the Western Kingdom. Deep understanding of Dharma and mastery of yin and yang are the sects of later generations, and Teng Shenxiang thinks of them. If he conquers Qiuci, he will be able to conquer Qiuci. "Lü Guangtai conquered Qiuci in 384 and conquered more than 30 Western Regions. After the kingdom was established, more than 2,000 camels and countless cultural relics and treasures were obtained, and the eminent monk Kumarajiva was invited to return to preach the scriptures. When he was traveling to Dunhuang, Kumarajiva dreamed at night that the white horse he was riding on was a dragon colt from the heavens in the upper realm. He was specially sent eastward by the order of the Lord Buddha. Now that we have entered Yangguan Avenue, the horse will transcend the land of life and death, and there will be another ride at Hulu River. When he woke up the next day, he found that the white horse was dead. Local Buddhist believers buried the white horse under the city, built a pagoda to commemorate it, and named it "White Horse Temple".Scenic spot qualifications:
