The Xiangyang Green Screen Wall is a unique treasure in the country's stone carving art. Together with the two glazed nine-dragon walls in Beihai, Beijing and Datong, Shanxi, it is also known as the three unique screen walls in my country. The green screen wall is located in the southeast corner of Xiangyang City in Hubei Province. It was built in the mid-15th century AD. It is the screen wall in front of the palace of Prince Xiangxian, the fifth son of Emperor Renzong of the Ming Dynasty. It is made of green vitriol and is edged with white marble. It looks great from a distance. It looks like a large green screen, hence its name.

In the first year of Zhengtong in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1436), the fifth son of Ming Renzong Zhu Gaochi, the fifth son of Xiangxian King Zhu Zhanyang, moved from Changsha to Xiangyang and built a royal palace in the southeast corner of the city. In the next two hundred years, the Xiangyang palace has been used as a royal palace. hereditary territory. With the decline of Ming Dynasty rule, in the 14th year of Chongzhen (1641), the peasant uprising army Zhang Xianzhong captured Xiangyang City and killed Xiangzhong King Zhu Yiming. In 1642, the fifteenth year of Chongzhen, Li Zicheng once again captured Xiangyang City, established a peasant regime in the Xiangyang Palace, and changed Xiangyang to "Xiangjing". The following year, Li Zicheng moved to the north and burned down the luxurious Xiangyang Palace with a fire. Only the Green Screen Wall remained, which has a history of more than 560 years.
