The old eight major buildings in Changchun are centered on the Geological Palace, which is the former site of the eight ruling institutions of the Puppet Manchukuo Kingdom. The architectural styles of each building in the eight major departments are different, integrating Western style into one, with both majestic buildings and courtyards with hanging flower arches. These buildings appear faintly among the bustling green trees on both sides of Xinmin Street, making the entire street elegant and clean.
