The Vatican Museum is the oldest museum in the world. It was first built in the late 5th century. It now covers an area of 5.5 hectares and is divided into 12 museums, 5 art galleries and a roof garden. How to get there:
Take Metro Line A in the direction of Battistini in downtown Rome and get off at Ottaviano-San Pietro. After exiting the station, walk south along Via.Ottaviano, turn right (west) when you see the tall city wall, and walk forward along the city wall, signs and the queue of people to reach the entrance of the museum. It takes about ten minutes to walk.
