Dangyang Yuquan Scenic Area is a comprehensive scenic area based on forest landscape, with Buddhist cultural relics as the main body, Relics of the Three Kingdoms as the backing, and integrating other natural landscapes and cultural landscapes. The scenic area is located in Yuquan, 12 kilometers southwest of Dangyang City, Hubei Province. Mountain, the central scenic area covers an area of ​​8.9 square kilometers. It has dense forests, rich species, and many historical sites and attractions such as the thousand-year-old Yuquan Temple, the shrine of Guan Gong of the Three Kingdoms, and the No. 1 Guan Temple in the world. It is a good place for leisure, outing, and worship of Buddha.

Attractions distribution:

Yuquan Temple was first built in the Jian'an period of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Emperor Xuan of Liang Dynasty, Xiao Cha, named Yuquan "Fuchuan Mountain Temple". In the twelfth year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in Sui Dynasty (592), King Yang Guang of Jin built a temple here at the request of Zhitou, and named it "Yiyin Temple". ", later changed to "Yuquan Temple"; in the 14th year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in the Sui Dynasty (594), Yang Guang decreed that Zhitou be named "Zen Master of the Wise Man" and personally wrote the plaque "Wise Man's Dojo". Shenxiu, the master of the Three Dynasties, founded the Northern Sect of Zen in the temple. Yuquan Temple was once known as the "Four Wonders of the World" together with Guoqing Temple in Tiantai, Zhejiang, Lingyan Temple in Changqing, Shandong, and Qixia Temple in Nanjing, Jiangsu. The main temples now include: Maitreya Hall, Main Hall, Pilu Hall, Weituo Hall, Jialan Hall, Qianguang Hall, Dabei Pavilion, Shifang Hall, Tibetan Sutra Pavilion, Manjusri Tower, Chuandeng Tower, Lecture Platform, Banzhou Hall, Yuantong Pavilion and other precious cultural relics and historic sites. The current abbot is Master Jinghui, and there are more than 40 resident monks.

How to get there:

By bus: Take bus No. 1 to Changbanpo in Dangyang City, then transfer to bus No. 2 to the intersection of Yuquan Temple. If you are strong enough, you can walk up the mountain, or you can take the Sanyuan minibus here to go to the temple.

Self-driving: Go to Dangyang along the Hurong Expressway. Get off the expressway at the Dangyang exit and enter Shili Changban Road. Follow the Yuquan Scenic Area signs along the way and you will arrive at Yuquan Temple.
