Chongqing Dazu Rock Carvings Scenic Area is as famous as Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, Yungang Grottoes and Longmen Grottoes. It is a general term for the grotto art in Dazu County, which is mainly manifested in cliff carvings. There are 74 sites with more than 50,000 religious stone carvings in the scenic area. They are religious cliff carvings from the late Tang Dynasty and early Song Dynasty. They are mainly Buddhist themes, and Confucian and Taoist statues are also displayed. The Beishan Cliff Statue and Baodingshan Cliff Statue are particularly famous.The Dazu Rock Carvings are a model of late Chinese cave sculpture art, with a large scale, exquisite art, and rich content, which is rare in the world. How to get there:
1. To go to Dazu from Chongqing, you can go to Chongqing long-distance bus stations and take a high-speed bus to Dazu County (one bus every 20 minutes). It takes about an hour and a half to get to Dazu, and the fare is about 40 yuan.
2. From Chengdu to Dazu, you can take a bus to Dazu at Hehuachi Long-distance Bus Station, the price is about 80-100 yuan. After arriving in Dazu County, take a sightseeing bus to Baoding Mountain Scenic Area, and you will arrive in 20 minutes. After arriving in Dazu, you can choose to walk or take a taxi to Beishan Stone Carvings The local taxi fare is 3 yuan.
