Wushan Water Curtain Cave The grottoes were first built in the Later Qin Dynasty during the Sixteen Kingdoms period. The style of the statues is in line with that of Maiji Mountain in the east and Bingling Temple in the west, but it also has its own unique characteristics. It combines reliefs, niches, hanging sculptures and murals, and integrates Buddhist culture from the Northern Wei, Northern Zhou, Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. It is an important grotto group on the eastern line of the Silk Road.
