Scenic spot introduction:

Beibei District of Chongqing City is known for its hot springs. The Beiquan Scenic Area in the district borders the Jialing River to the north and Jinyun Mountain to the south. Its predecessor was Hot Spring Temple, which was first built in the first year of Jingping (423) of Liu Song Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty and rebuilt in the seventh year of Xuande (1432) of Ming Dynasty. In 1927, Lu Zuofu founded Jialingjiang Hot Spring Park here, adding hot spring swimming pools, bathrooms, restaurants and other tourist facilities, and later changed its name to Chongqing North Hot Spring Park. There are 10 hot springs in the park, with a daily flow of 5,675 tons and a water temperature of 35°C-37°C. It is a weakly alkaline sulfuric acid mineral spring and has certain curative effects on skin, joints, gastrointestinal and other diseases. In addition to ample hot spring water, the park also has Ruhua Cave and various unique plant resources.

Beiquan Scenic Area consists of Hot Spring Park, Hot Spring Temple and North Hot Spring. North Hot Spring Park. The scenery in the park is built according to the natural terrain, with mountains and rivers, and picturesque scenery. The building complex is centered on the four main halls. The Guansheng Temple, also known as the Three Holy Temples, is the gate of the Hot Spring Temple. There is a square formed by the trickles of mountain springs behind the Jingyin Hall. The pond and the railings of the stone bridge above the pond are engraved with patterns of unicorns, plantains, flowers and birds, all of which were made in the Ming Dynasty. There is a Ming Dynasty Buddha statue existing in the Big Buddha Hall; in front of the hall, a pair of stone lions embrace a little lion, which is very unique. The Guanyin Hall is supported by stone pillars and covered with iron tiles. It is commonly known as the "Iron Tile Hall".

Best time to visit:

The best time to travel is between February → May and October → December every year. During these two periods, the temperature in Chongqing is the most suitable for hot spring bathing.
