Scenic spot introduction:

Dongping Lake is the second largest freshwater lake in Shandong Province and the only remaining water area of the "Hundred Miles Liangshan Water Margin" in the Song Dynasty. The total area of the lake is 655 square kilometers, with a perennial water surface of 209 square kilometers and an average water depth of 2 meters. The lake is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with beautiful scenery, fertile water quality, and rich lake products. There are more than 50 kinds of fish and shellfish such as carp, mandarin fish, and turtle, as well as more than a dozen aquatic plants such as water chestnuts, chicken rice, and lotus roots. The beautiful and rich natural resources made it known as the "Little Dongting" as early as the Tang Dynasty. Dongping Lake has a large number of relics and stories of the Water Margin heroes' activities. It is a stop not to be missed on the Shandong "Water Margin" tourist line.

Dongping Lake is the only remnant of the 800-li water park described in "Water Margin". There are many cultural relics and historical sites along the lake: the east bank of the lake is where the Water Margin hero Song Jiang attacked Dongping City, the tomb of Liu Cang, the King of Dongping in the Later Han Dynasty, and his descendants, and the " Yellowstone Cliffs "; On the west bank is the ancient Grand Canal, the Sili Mountain where the Water Margin hero Chao Gai and other heroes first gathered, and the National Forest Park. Lashan There is the "Yueyan Temple" built in the seventh year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty; on the north bank is the "Chenggong Temple" of Cheng Yaojin, a great general of the Tang Dynasty, and the tomb of the "King of Chu", a famous peasant uprising leader; there is the scenic Huashan scenic spot, and the Hongdingshan Cliff Inscriptions written by An Daoyi, a famous monk of the Northern Qi Dynasty; in the southeast of the lake is the ruins of Lejiaochi Pavilion built by Liu Chang, the prefect of Dongping County in the Song Dynasty; the Qingshui Stone Bridge built in the Sui Dynasty is also buried under the water of Dongping Lake.
