The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is located in Milin County and Medog County of Nyingchi, Tibet. It is 504.9 kilometers long and 6,009 meters deep at its deepest point. It is the longest and deepest canyon in the world. The entire canyon area is composed of glaciers, cliffs, steep slopes, mudslides and huge rivers. The environment is very harsh and can be called "the last secret place on earth". Tour route:
The first route: Pai District, Milin County → Duoxiongla → Nag → Hanmi → Maniwong → Beibeng.
The second route: From Pai District of Milin County, pass through Daduka and Gega to Gala, and then go down into the uninhabited area. It will take about a week to walk along the river to reach Baimagouxiong. Leave the canyon and go straight down along a branch ditch through Xixingla Pass (4,400 meters above sea level) to the Grand Canyon. After entering the big bend, pass Jiangbianlugu Village, cross the zipline to Gandai (east bank), and go down from Gandai through the Hejiasa District and go straight to Medog.
The third route: From Parlung on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, go down along the Tsangpo River for three days to reach Zaqu Village at the top of the Grand Canyon, cross the newly built iron cable bridge (originally a zip line) to Dapo, leave the Grand Canyon and cross it, passing through virgin forests and ridges. In three days, you will reach Bayu Village on the riverside below the bend of the Grand Canyon, and then go through Lugu, Gandai, and Hejiasa to Medog.
The fourth route: From Guxiang in Bomi County, cross the Guxiang Lake on the Parlung Tsangpo River, go up the mountain and cross the Sui La Pass (about 4,400 meters above sea level), go southwest and directly reach the Jiaresa area by the river in the Grand Canyon. The mountain road along the way is tortuous and the journey takes three days.
The fifth route: From Zamu Town, Bomi County, go south along the north curve of Gaolongla, cross the Gaolongla Pass at an altitude of 4,200 meters, go southwest, and follow the Gaolongla South River for 64 kilometers and 86 kilometers to reach Damu on the edge of the Grand Canyon. It usually takes two days to enter the Grand Canyon and reach Medog.

Early June → mid-October is the time to hike in the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, and April and October are the best seasons to enter Medog.

How to get there:
First, take a bus from Lhasa to Nyingchi. The first bus leaves at 8:00 am. The distance from Lhasa to Bayi Town in Nyingchi is 633 kilometers and the ticket price is 155 yuan. Then go from Bayi to Pailong, and then hike from Pailong to Zhaqu to visit the Yarlung Zangbo River Bend and the deepest canyon in the world, and then from Zhaqu to Pailong. On the way, you can visit the Monba villages and enjoy the virgin forests. Finally, you can take a bus from Pailong to Milin, and from Milin to Gacha in Shannan area to enjoy the scenery of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon.
