Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden was jointly built by the Shanghai Municipal Government, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the State Forestry Administration, and the Chinese Academy of Forestry. It was named after Chenshan Mountain in the Sheshan mountain range. It focuses on the collection, protection and exhibition of plants from the East China region. It is a comprehensive botanical garden that integrates scientific research, popular science, and sightseeing.
