Wenchang Coconut Garden Travel Guide

Scenic spot introduction:

The Coconut Garden is an ecological park with a coconut grove as its main background, integrating scientific research, popular science education, tourism, leisure and entertainment, and rich in coconut cultural characteristics. The Coconut Garden is located in Wenchang City, Hainan Province, my country's "Hometown of Coconuts", and is adjacent to the famous Hainan scenic spot Dongjiao Coconut Grove. It was rebuilt in 1980 by the Coconut Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences of the Ministry of Agriculture on the basis of the original coconut germplasm resource bank. The garden brings together more than 200 palm plants and more than 130 Hainan-specific tree species. It is currently the botanical garden with the most preserved palm plant varieties in my country.

Attractions distribution:

When the Coconut Garden was first built, it covered an area of 54.4 hectares and was divided into the Interpretation Center, Coconut Grove Viewing Area , Palm viewing area , Horticultural viewing area , Lakeside recreation area , product development area and scientific and technological research and development area. The park has lush coconut trees, flourishing flowers and leaves, and the fragrance of birds and flowers. Through coconuts such as the Coconut King, the food culture, product culture, historical culture and spiritual culture of coconut are displayed. In addition to developing tourism, Daguan Garden undertakes dozens of scientific research projects from the state, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Hainan Province and international cooperation, and has obtained many scientific and technological achievements, making positive contributions to the development of my country's coconut industry and the poverty alleviation and prosperity of farmers in coconut-growing areas.
