Scenic spot introduction:

Zhenjiang Mengxi Garden is the site of Shen Kuo's former residence. It is an antique literati residence. Shen Kuo (1031-1095 AD) was one of the most outstanding scientists in Chinese history. He was proficient in astronomy, mathematics, physics, chemistry, geology, meteorology, geography, agriculture and medicine. He was also an engineer and diplomat; His late work "Mengxi Bi Tan" was completed here, and it is still an immortal masterpiece. After reconstruction, the ancient house with its deep courtyard and secluded bamboo forest has recreated the beautiful scenery of the past. It displays a large number of Shen Kuo's life and achievements, telling people about every bit of this famous scientific figure.

Attractions distribution:

Mengxiyuan is located at No. 21 Mengxiyuan Lane and is part of the Yan Ancestral Hall. The existing buildings of the residence are in Qing Dynasty style and have three entrances. There is a seated statue of Shen Kuo in the gate pavilion, and the courtyard has excellent greening, with ancient wells and ancient steles. There is an exhibition hall displaying Shen Kuo's life and major achievements, among which the more famous ones include the armillary sphere, movable type, pot leakage and other models. In the garden, you can also see inscriptions by celebrities such as Zhao Puchu, Qi Gong, Qian Sanqiang, etc., and there are also many couplets.
