Shou County Museum (Shouchun Chu Culture Museum) is a local comprehensive museum that mainly collects historical relics unearthed in Shou County, with an emphasis on collecting relics of the Chu culture system, as well as modern and contemporary handed-down relics and revolutionary relics. The Shou County Museum was originally located in Baoen Temple, a famous Jianghuai temple in the northeast corner of Shouchun City. It moved to a new building on West Street in Shouchun City in January 2004. It is one of the earliest museums in Anhui Province and a national key museum in Anhui after the Anhui Provincial Museum.
The new Shou County Museum covers an area of nearly 20,000 square meters, with a construction area of 6,558 square meters and an exhibition area of 2,600 square meters. The museum is divided into 7 topics and has 11 exhibition halls, namely, Treasures of the Capital of Chu, Traces of the Late Cai Dynasty, Treasures from the Tomb of Chu, Rhymes of the Han and Wei Dynasties, Brilliant Cultural Relics, Battle of Feishui, Fragrance of Calligraphy, Colorful Porcelain, Light of Ancient Kiln, Religious Art The museum has a collection of more than 10,000 cultural relics ranging from the Neolithic Age to modern and contemporary times, including 162 first-class items, 163 second-class items, and 1,443 third-class items. Through careful artistic design, detailed text descriptions, clear illustrations, lifelike sculptures of figures, sand tray models, and modern technology-assisted exhibition methods such as sound and photoelectricity, they vividly show the elegance of Shouchun Chu culture during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period; at the same time, they show the most glorious period of Shou County from the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period to the Wei and Jin Dynasties, reflecting the long history and splendid culture of Shou County in a relatively comprehensive manner.

How to get there:

The new building of Shou County Museum is located in the prosperous area of West Street in Shouchun City, adjacent to the Confucius Temple. You can take a car or walk to the crossroads in the center of the ancient city, and then go west for a few hundred meters to the south.
