The new museum is one of the three major cultural facilities in Guangdong Province's construction of a cultural province. The new museum adopts the design concept of "treasure box" and uses a reinforced concrete core tube to carry a giant steel truss suspension structure system. The total sliding weight of the giant roof steel trusses of the new museum reaches 8,700 tons, making it the world's heaviest high-altitude steel structure sliding project. Since the exhibition hall is suspended from giant steel trusses without a single structural column in the middle, it provides good conditions for display. The new museum covers an area of ​​41,027 square meters, with a total construction area of ​​approximately 66,980 square meters. The total building height is 44.5 meters, with 1 floor underground and 5 floors above ground.
