The Hubei Provincial Museum is the only provincial-level comprehensive museum in Hubei Province. Hubei Provincial Museum is located on the bank of East Lake. The museum was established in 1953. It is the only provincial comprehensive museum in Hubei Province. It is mainly responsible for the collection, storage, protection, display and exhibition of cultural relics in the province and the research of collections. The museum covers a total area of ​​81,909 square meters, with a construction area of ​​49,611 square meters, an exhibition hall area of ​​13,427 square meters, and a collection of more than 200,000 pieces (sets) of cultural relics, including nearly a thousand pieces (sets) of first-class cultural relics, including the largest in China. The Hubei Provincial Museum is composed of three pillars of antique buildings with high platform bases, wide eaves, and large pitched roofs, including the comprehensive exhibition hall, the Chu Cultural Center, and the temporary exhibition hall. It embodies the central axis symmetry, "one platform, one hall" of Chu architecture. The layout format of the high platform building is "multiple platforms in groups" or "multiple groups in groups". The architectural style highlights the characteristics of Chu-style buildings such as multi-story wide eaves and large pitched roofs in Chu State. The exterior walls of the building are decorated with light gray granite. The roof is paved with dark blue-gray glazed tiles.

Admission to the permanent exhibition is free.

Charged items are as follows: temporary exhibitions of cultural relics from external units, chime performances, explanations of displayed cultural relics, rental of audio guides, storage of large items, and parking of large and small vehicles.
