The Vasa Museum is a museum dedicated to exhibiting the Vasa shipwreck with a history of more than 370 years. The museum is located on the Zoo Island in Stockholm and is a unique shipwreck museum among the many museums in Sweden.

Battleship Vasa Built in 1625 by order of King Gustavus Aldof II, this warship was originally a single-deck gunboat. However, when the king learned that Denmark, a powerful enemy at sea, already had double-deck gunboats, he ignored the designer's advice and ordered the construction of gun positions on the upper deck, which caused the hidden danger of unstable center of gravity. On August 10, 1628, the weather was fine in the bay of Stockholm. This majestic and magnificent large warship set sail amid the cheers of the crowd on the shore. Unexpectedly, after sailing for a few hundred meters, a breeze came out and Battleship Vasa After shaking a few times, the boat and all the people on it sank to the bottom of the sea in full view of everyone.
In 1956, archaeologists determined the location of the ship, and later the relevant parties began to salvage it. It was not until April 24, 1961 that the warship, which had been sleeping underwater for 333 years, surfaced again. After that, after the hard work of divers and archaeologists, a large number of precious objects were finally found near the wreck and inside the hull.
Since the Vasa was salvaged, it has become a historic site that attracts many tourists, with 500,000 to 600,000 visitors from all over the world every year. In 1988, a permanent Vasa shipwreck exhibition hall with a construction area of 6,000 square meters was built. This lively, interesting and informative museum has added a new style to the colorful Stockholm.

In Stockholm, take bus No. 44 to Nordiska museet/Vasa stop; take tram No. 7 (the antique tram is recommended) to Nordiska museet/Vasa stop; or take a ferry from Slussen to Djurgården stop, turn left and walk 500 meters.
