Nymphenburg Palace was built between 1664 and 1728. It was originally the palace of the Wittelsbach family. After several expansions by Bavarian Kings Ludwig I and II, it has reached its current size. It is understood that for 800 years since the 12th century, the Wittelsbach family, who ruled Bavaria, has been keen on renovating the palace, making Munich the center of German palace culture.
