Scenic spot introduction:

Leizhou West Lake Park is a garden-style comprehensive park with beautiful scenery, rich cultural heritage, natural scenery, traces of saints and various recreational projects. Leizhou West Lake is located in the northwest corner of the ancient city of Leizhou, covering an area of more than 90,000 square meters. It was originally named Luohu Lake. Before the Song Dynasty, it was a "wild water" with vast smoke and water, flowing freely. In the Song Dynasty, it was built as a "reservoir" in the suburbs to transport nectar to the vast Dongyang tide fields. In the first year of Qianxing in the Song Dynasty (1022 AD), Kou Zhun was demoted to the military officer of the household department of Leizhou and lived by the lake; in May of the fourth year of Shaosheng in the reign of Emperor Zhezong of the Song Dynasty (1097), the literary master Su Shi was demoted from Huizhou to Danzhou, and lived on the lake with his brother Su Zhe (exiled to Leizhou). They loved the quiet scenery and lingered in the moonlit lake. Lei people changed Luohu Lake to "West Lake" in order to remember the traces of saints.
