Fuzhou West Lake Park Travel Guide

Scenic spot introduction:

Fuzhou West Lake Park is the most complete classical garden preserved in Fuzhou so far, and is known as the "Pearl of Fujian Gardens". Fuzhou West Lake was excavated by Yan Gao, the governor of the Jin Dynasty in the third year of Taikang (AD 282), and it was already a tourist attraction in the late Tang Dynasty. During the Five Dynasties, the second son of Wang Shenzhi, the king of Fujian, succeeded to the throne and built pavilions, platforms, and Buildings, pavilions, buildings and boats were set up in the lake, and the West Lake became an imperial garden. It became more prosperous in the Song Dynasty. In the eighth year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (AD 1828), Lin Zexu laid stones on the lakeshore and rebuilt it. In 1914, it was turned into a West Lake Park. Xin Qiji in the Song Dynasty wrote after visiting: "It is better to be clear in misty rain, probably because Xi Shi is not married."

Fuzhou West Lake Park combines Fuzhou's classical gardening style, making use of natural landscape shapes, and mainly arranging local tree species. It pays attention to poetry and painting, "seeing the big from the small", making the scenery of West Lake more and more beautiful and famous. The main attractions include Liudi, Kaihua Temple, Wanzaitang, Guizhai, Lake Walking Trail and Fujian Museum.
