The Smoke Tree at Jimen is one of the eight scenic spots in Yanjing. It refers to the western section of the ruins of the Yuan Dadu city wall north of Xizhimen. This section of the city wall was constructed of rammed earth. After the Ming army captured Dadu at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the northern city wall of Yuan Dadu was moved 5 miles south. Later, the section of the city wall pointed to by Jimen Yanshu was abandoned, and trees grew on the site of the rammed earth city wall, so it was called Jimen Yanshu. Jimen Yanshu is said to be the site of ancient Jizhou, also called Jiqiu, commonly known as Tucheng. It is the former site of Liaocheng and Yuancheng. It was renovated by the Beijing Municipal Garden Bureau in 1985. With the stone tablet as the center, pavilions and city walls were built. , planted trees and greened it, and named it "Jimen Park".
