Zhangyan Park in Jinshan, Shanghai is the only classical garden style park in Shanghai that has been preserved during the Yuan Dynasty and has undergone several changes. It is said that Hai Rui once enjoyed flowers and read in this garden when he was a child, which became a legend. The park was originally the private residence of Wu Liang, a local prominent family in the Yuan Dynasty. After several generations of management, it was expanded into the famous "Wu Family Garden" by the time of Wu Liang (Zhenshi) in the Ming Dynasty. During the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, the family fell into decline, and the garden was sold to the Qian family and became part of the Qian Family Yi Zhuang, commonly known as the "Qian Family Garden". In the following years, this land changed hands several times, and finally became what it is today after the "Cultural Revolution", providing a good place for citizens to relax.
