Scenic spot introduction:

Yumen Pass is one of the two passes in the Hexi Corridor that Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty established to open the road to the Western Regions. It was named because jade was imported from the Western Regions through this route. Wang Zhihuan, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, wrote in his poem Liangzhou Ci, "The Yellow River flows far away among the white clouds, and there is an isolated city and a thousand-foot mountain. Why should the Qiang flute complain about the willows? The spring breeze does not reach Yumen Pass." This vividly describes the majestic and desolate scene of the ancient border city. Yumen Pass is located 90 kilometers northwest of Dunhuang City, commonly known as Xiaofangpancheng During the Han Dynasty, it served as the gateway to various places in the Western Regions. Together with another important pass, Yangguan, they were both located in Longle County, Dunhuang County. At that time, all traffic between the Central Plains and the Western Regions had to go through the two passes. Both places were the seats of the Duwei and were important military passes and transportation routes of the Silk Road during the Han Dynasty.
