Scenic spot introduction:

The Humen Bridge in Dongguan is the first large-scale suspension bridge in China. The four characters "Humen Bridge" were written by President Jiang Zemin. The bridge is built on the Shiziyang channel of the Pearl River mainstream. It starts from Humen in the east and connects to Nansha in the west, spanning the Pearl River Estuary. It is 15.78 kilometers long. Main Bridge It is 4.6 kilometers long, with an approach road of 11.16 kilometers, ranking first in China. It is known as the "world's first span" and is one of the top ten landmarks in Guangdong.
The Humen Bridge was laid in 1992, officially opened to traffic on June 9, 1997, and passed the completion acceptance on April 20, 1999. The total investment was nearly 3 billion yuan. The bridge deck has six lanes in both directions and the designed daily and night traffic volume is 120,000 vehicles. The main span of the bridge is a steel box girder suspension bridge with a span of 888 meters, ranking second in China; the auxiliary channel of the bridge is a 270-meter continuous rigid structure, ranking first in the world for the same type of bridge; the main span has a clearance height of 60 meters, and 100,000-ton ocean-going ships can pass under the bridge.

The Humen Bridge spans the Pearl River estuary between Humen Town, Dongguan City and Nansha District, Guangzhou, connecting the Guangzhou-Shenzhen and Guangzhou-Zhuhai highways, and is an important transportation hub in the Pearl River Delta. Under the bridge was once the ancient battlefield of the Opium War. Although the sea and sky are now vast and the smoke of gunpowder has disappeared, the majestic momentum of the bridge can vaguely make people imagine the heroic spirit of Lin Zexu, Guan Tianpei and others who "wear golden armor through a hundred battles in the yellow sand and will not return until Loulan is conquered."
