Scenic spot introduction:

Yichang Three Gorges Xiling Yangtze River Bridge is the first suspension bridge on the Yangtze River. When it was completed, its span ranked first among similar bridges in China and seventh in the world. The bridge is one of the key projects in the preliminary preparations for the Three Gorges Water Conservancy Project, and is known as the "First Span in China". The bridge is orange-red, firstly because the orange-red color is bright and eye-catching, which is helpful for navigation; secondly, the orange-red color represents wealth and good luck; thirdly, Yichang is a famous citrus hometown in the country. In August 1996, the Xiling Yangtze River Bridge was completed and opened to traffic. The following year, it won the first prize for high-quality projects from the Ministry of Railways. In 1998, it won the Luban Award for Chinese Construction Engineering.

The Xiling Yangtze River Bridge is located 4.5 kilometers downstream of the central axis of the Three Gorges Dam. It has a total length of 1,118.66 meters, a main span of 900 meters, a total width of 21 meters, and four lanes in both directions. Among them, the driveway is 15 meters wide and there are 1.5-meter-wide sidewalks on both sides.

Self-driving route: Turn from Sanxia Expressway to Jiangxia Avenue → Pinghu Avenue, then turn to S334 from Fanba Expressway and drive toward Zigui County and Sandouping Town.
