Yuanyangxi National Scenic Area is located in the northeastern part of Pingnan County. Yuanyangxi is the Baiyan River in Yiyang Village, Shuangxi Town, Pingnan County. It is named because of the many mandarin ducks. The stream is 14 kilometers long. The nearby mountains are deep and forested, quiet and clean. It is a good place for mandarin ducks to inhabit. Every autumn, hundreds of mandarin ducks fly from the north to spend the winter. It is currently the only mandarin duck bird sanctuary in my country. Mandarin ducks were discovered in the streams in this area more than a hundred years ago, so Pingnan is known as the "hometown of mandarin ducks".
The Yuanyangxi Scenic Area has a total area of ​​78.8 square kilometers and is composed of 5 tourist areas: Baishuiyang, Yuanyangxi, Chaxi, Shuizhuyangyikaoxi, and Yuanyang Lake. Both sides of the stream are densely forested and have a wide variety of animals and plants. Every autumn equinox During the Qingming Festival of the following year, thousands of mandarin ducks flew from the north to spend the winter. There are more than 300 Chinese macaques that live in the forest beside the stream all year round. In addition, there are more than 10 kinds of national second-class or above protected animals such as pythons, clouded leopards, white pheasants, and pangolins. , known as the "natural zoological and botanical garden".
