Baiju Temple is a famous temple in the rear Tibet. It is a temple where the three major sects of Tibetan Buddhism, Sakya, Kadam and Gelug, coexist. Baiju Temple is called "Bankuodeqing" in Tibetan, which means "Auspicious Wheel Music Temple". It was built in the second year of Xuande of Ming Xuanzong (1427) and took 10 years to complete. It is located in the northeast corner of Gyantse County, about 100 kilometers east of Shigatse, with an altitude of 3,900 meters. Baiju Temple is a typical Tibetan Buddhist temple building that combines a pagoda and a temple. There is a temple in the pagoda and a pagoda in the temple. The temple and the pagoda are naturally integrated and complement each other. Its architecture fully represents the typical style of temple architecture in the rear Tibet area from the late 13th century to the mid-15th century. Baiju Temple was advocated and built by Gyantse Dharma King Raodan Gongsangpa in 1403. At that time, Raodan Gongsangpa invited Kezhujie, who was later regarded as the first Dalai Lama, to preside over the construction of the temple.
