Scenic spot introduction:

Tainan Confucius Temple is the earliest Confucian temple in Taiwan. It was completed during the Yongli period of the Ming Dynasty. It was also the first institution of higher learning established in Taiwan after Zheng Chenggong recovered Taiwan. It has the reputation of "the first university in Taiwan". Its establishment marked the official entry of Confucianism into Taiwan and became an important milestone in the history of Taiwan's educational development. Chinese traditional culture and education spread on the island of Taiwan. Tainan Confucius Temple is now listed as a first-class historical site. There are many cultural relics and magnificent halls in the temple. The whole building faces north and south. It was built in imitation of ancient palace-style houses and belongs to the southern Chinese style. The roof is a traditional hip-and-gable double-eaved style with yellow glazed tiles and the ridges are raised at both ends, which is very beautiful. There is a horizontal plaque on the temple gate with the four characters "the first university in Taiwan" written in gold. The handwriting is vigorous and powerful, which adds to the solemnity of the Confucius Temple.
