Cheng'en Temple is backed by Lion Rock and faces Jinzi Mountain. During the Daye Period of the Sui Dynasty (605-618), Princess Yang of the Sui Dynasty lived in seclusion here to heal her illness. The emperor felt her kindness and sent people to build a temple here. , named Baoyan Zen Temple, it has been built and destroyed many times since the Tang and Song Dynasties, and was destroyed by fire in the late Yuan Dynasty. During the Tomorrow Shun period, Yingzong renovated the temple in order to repay his uncle. He changed the mountain to "Yongle Mountain" and the temple to "Dacheng'en Temple".
