The Daxiangguo Temple in Kaifeng was built in the sixth year of Tianbao in the Northern Qi Dynasty (555). It is the first "royal temple" in the history of our country to "open a temple for the country" and is one of the eight scenic spots in Kaifeng with the "Xiangguo Frost Bell".

Kaifeng Daxiangguo Temple is located in the west section of Ziyou Road, Kaifeng City, Henan Province. During the Northern Song Dynasty, Xiangguo Temple was highly respected by the royal family and expanded many times. It covers an area of ​​more than 500 acres, has jurisdiction over 64 Zen and Buddhist temples, and supports more than 1,000 monks. It is the largest temple in Beijing and the national Buddhist activity center.
The scale of the current Xiangguo Temple is far smaller than that of the Tang and Song Dynasties, but its layout has basically been preserved to this day. Along the central axis of the temple, from south to north, there are the Stele Tower, the Heavenly King Hall, the Main Hall, the Eight Treasures Glazed Hall, and the Sutra Collection. There is also a bell tower on the east side of the front yard. The main hall and Sutra Pavilion are Qing Dynasty buildings, tall and majestic with extraordinary momentum. Wonderful stories such as Lu Zhishen uprooting a weeping willow tree and Coach Lin getting to know Lu Zhishen described in the classic novel "Water Margin" took place in the vegetable garden of Xiangguo Temple.
