Khaju Temple The full name of Kaju Jixiang Monastery is one of the important hermitages of the Nyingma School in Tibet. It is also the ancestral temple where successive Nushi Nankha Nyingpo Living Buddhas studied Buddhist classics, studied the secrets of Tibetan Buddhism, and practiced with great concentration. It is located in Lakang Town, Lhozha County, on the northern border of Tibet and Bhutan, with an average altitude of 3,900 meters. In the 9th century AD, Guru Padmasambhava was invited by the Tibetan King Trisong Detsen to Tibet to exorcise demons and spread Buddhist doctrines. When observing the geographical feng shui of the Tibetan Plateau, he found that the Kaju area had special auspicious signs, so he led his disciples to rest and preach in the Kaju Cave for 7 years.
