Suzhou Chongyuan Temple ranks among the top ten in the country and is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula. Chongyuan Temple and Hanshan Temple were originally built at the same time, but they were both burned down during the Cultural Revolution. Historically, Chongyuan Temple was a Zen Buddhist site with great popularity, and many famous Tang Dynasty poets wrote works praising its scenery. Nowadays, the new Zhongyuan Temple is magnificent, showing the characteristics of the largest Guanyin temple in Jiangdong of the Shuitian Buddhist Kingdom, the majestic main hall, the Guanyin Pavilion with upturned eaves, plus the main building of the temple layered in layers and the Guanyin statue and bronze statue that are the largest in the world. The leather drum, the island Guanyin wall and the bronze bell that can produce the first tune of the Tang Dynasty have reproduced the style of Chongyuan Temple at that time. It is an excellent place for people to travel, worship and relax. It also fills the east part of the ancient city of Suzhou. There is no temple space on the surface.Attractions distribution:
Chongyuan Temple is located on the Yangcheng Lake Peninsula in Weiting Town, northeast of Suzhou City, covering an area of more than 300 acres. The Guanyin Pavilion on the water in the temple echoes the main temple area. There are mountain gates, Puji Bridge, Lotus Island, Tianwang Hall, Bell and Drum Tower, Daxiong Hall, Ksitigarbha Hall, Void Cang Hall, Liu Guanyin Hall, etc. There are Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, King Kong, etc. in the temple.
