Scenic spot introduction:

Wanzhou Amitabha Temple integrates traditional Buddhist culture, Three Gorges folk culture, modern funeral culture, and tourism and leisure culture. It is a long-standing Buddhist temple in the Three Gorges and even the southwest region. The temple was first built in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, and renovated in the 16th year of Guangxu (1890). It is located at the east end of Yima Road in Wanzhou District, Chongqing, and stands on the bank of the Yangtze River. Legend has it that the night gate god bell flew down to the temple, so it was named "Bell and Drum Tower". The Bell and Drum Tower Zen Temple is majestically located on the bank of the river, with flying eaves and corners, and magnificent momentum. The saying praises it: "Wanzhou has a bell and drum tower, half of which extends into the sky." In its heyday, the temple had more than 300 monks, with morning bells and evening drums, and the sound of scriptures was loud and clear, which was truly called "a blessed place in the cave." Therefore, Amitabha Temple is not only a well-known Buddhist temple in the southwest region, but also well-known throughout China and abroad. Amitabha Temple is located at No. 199, Beishanguan Branch Road, Wanzhou District, Chongqing.
