The Shanghai Maglev Train Line starts from Shanghai in the west track The Longyang Road Station of Traffic Line 2 runs east to Shanghai Pudong International Airport. The line is 29.863 kilometers long. It is the world's first commercial maglev line developed by China and Germany. The first shovel was dug in Pudong on March 1, 2001, the whole line was put into trial operation on December 31, 2002, and commercial operation officially started on January 4, 2003.
