Attractions distribution:

The Netherlands is most famous for its windmills. Several centuries ago, windmills were used as tools for building embankments to prevent floods and irrigating farmland. The clever and wise Dutch people took full advantage of their country's large coastal area, flat terrain, and abundant wind power to invent windmills. During its heyday, it is said that there were more than 9,000 windmills. It can be said that windmills have made great contributions to the agriculture and economy of the Netherlands.
Windmills have now withdrawn from the stage of history, but the Netherlands still retains some ancient windmills for people to reminisce and appreciate. Kinderdijk Windmill Village is the most ideal place to appreciate windmills. The village concentrates windmills of different types from different periods. Some of these windmills are simple, some are large, and some are small. Each has its own characteristics and is never repeated. The second Saturday of May every year is designated as Windmill Day in the Netherlands. On this day, windmills across the country are decorated with lights, national flags and flowers, and rotate together, which is like a national celebration. The windmills in the windmill village naturally rotate non-stop to welcome tourists from all over the world.
There are also various small museums in the windmill village, such as cheese factories, handicraft shops, and wooden shoe factories. While enjoying the Dutch style, tourists can also buy some local souvenirs for their relatives and friends at home.
