Scenic spot introduction:

Xinchang Ancient Town is an ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River that was built and prospered because of salt. It was once known as "Xinchang Ancient Town is as good as Suzhou" and was the largest town on the Pudong Plain in ancient times. It was built around the second year of Jianyan in the Southern Song Dynasty (1128 AD) and has a history of more than 800 years. It got its name from the fact that the Xiasha Salt Field moved south to form a new salt field, hence the name "Xinchang". In the early Yuan Dynasty, the Songjiang Branch of the Liangzhe Salt Transport Office moved here. Later, due to changes in the salt field and wars, it experienced several ups and downs. The narrow river that passes through Xinchang Ancient Town, the exquisitely carved stone arch bridges, the houses built by the water, the high stone revetments, and the saddle-shaped water bridges of the people along the river constitute a very cultural ancient water town in the south of the Yangtze River.

How to get there:

Self-driving: 1. Puxi City - Inner Ring Elevated Road - Nanpu Bridge - Longyang Road - Hunan Highway (passing Beicai Town, Zhoupu Town, Xiasha Town, Hangtou Town) - Xinchang Town. 2. Pudong New Area - S20 Outer Ring Road - S2 Hulu Expressway - turn right at the Hunan Highway exit - Xinchang Ancient Town.

Public transportation: In the city, you can take Metro Line 8 to Aerospace Museum Station, and then transfer to Ludu Line to reach the ancient town. Or you can take Metro Line 2 to Longyang Road Station. There are many bus routes to the Pudong Suburban Bus Station next to it. Xinchang Old Street Among them, the Longpinglu special line is the fastest and the ticket price is 5 yuan per person.

1. Xinchang Ancient Town is known as "Thirteen archways and nine-ring dragons, the small Xinchang is comparable to Suzhou". The archways and arch bridges are the business cards of the ancient town and also the biggest attractions of the ancient town.

2. The ancient town has three national intangible cultural heritages: Pudong Pipa, gongs and drums, and Jiangnan Sizhu.
