Hassan II The Hassan II Mosque is the third largest mosque in the world, after the Mecca and Medina mosques in Saudi Arabia. One third of its area is built on the sea to commemorate the Arab ancestors of Morocco who came from the sea. The mosque is located in the northwest of Casablanca, the Kingdom of Morocco, and is located at the westernmost end of the Islamic world. Hassan II The mosque is known as the most technologically advanced mosque in the world. It consists of four floors. The bottom two floors cover an area of nearly 20,000 square meters and are places for men to perform ablutions and pray. The middle floor covers an area of 3,550 square meters and is reserved for women to pray. The top floor is a movable roof that will automatically open within a few minutes by pressing a button, allowing sunlight to directly shine into the mosque. Minaret The mosque is equipped with a laser device, which can be reached by stairs or elevators. When the laser device is turned on at night, a 35-kilometer-long dazzling beam points directly to the direction of Mecca, the holy city of Islam. The mosque is also equipped with advanced automatic fire extinguishing devices, broadcast communication systems and monitoring systems.
