Hangzhou Qinghefang is the only relatively well-preserved old neighborhood in Hangzhou. It has a long history and is home to merchants. Today, Qinghefang is a microcosm of Hangzhou's long history and is the most famous neighborhood in Hangzhou.

Qinghefang historical and cultural district is located at the foot of Wushan Mountain in Shangcheng District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Because the residence of Zhang Jun, who was named Qinghe County Prince in the Southern Song Dynasty, is located in Taiping Lane of Yujie, this area was named Qinghefang. During the Southern Song Dynasty, Qinghefang was lined with shops and restaurants. It was the political and cultural center of Hangzhou and a gathering place for merchants. It was still a prosperous commercial area in Hangzhou through the Yuan, Ming, Qing and the Republic of China until the early days of liberation.
