1. Normally, ordinary people cannot pass the double bridge. Exceptions are made for those who have gone through the formalities beforehand to visit the Imperial Palace.
2. On New Year's Day and the Emperor's birthday, the Imperial Palace is open for tours and celebrations. The main gate is open and visitors can walk on the Niju Bridge.
